Re: OrbDuino 1.1 in beta

I bought two kits and a Seeeeduino v2.12. Just soldered things up this afternoon and uploaded the BasicJoystick. So far so good, but I'm not having much luck getting past this point. Many times when plugging it in, it comes up as unrecognized device, but a few times I did get it to detect as a Space...

Re: OrbShield kits...

Do you prefer the Arduino or Seeeduino ?

I am going to order a couple of the kits. I have been traveling for work nearly nonstop the last 6 months, I hope to get back into some hobbies. We'll see!

Thanks.

Re: OrbShield kits...

Sorry for not responding earlier! I sorta lost track of checking the forums here. Are all the necessary instructions provided with the Orbshield kit such as board assembly, which Arduino board to buy, what software is required and how to configure a Spaceball as a game controller? Yep; the build gui...

Re: OrbShield kits...

Man, I apologize... My web server was crapping out with a BSOD every few hours... Instead of troubleshooting/reviving that box, I moved everything to a new server. I did make a backup of the phpBB database before the move, but you either snuck in after that, or your post was lost via one of t...

Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.

Of course I want to build one of these things... I am tempted assemble one by doing the manual etching and drilling, as tedious as you make it sound, just for the experience. On top of that, I would be willing to chip in the money needed to get a batch of professional boards made. You did the hard w...

Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.

I never heard anyone 'from' Louisiana say 'absolute rubbish'.

haha.

I'm from Pennsylvania, but I travel for work a bit, going to southern Arkansas next week... Near Texarkana. Been to Shreveport, but that's it for La.

Ok, I would guess I am now as far off-topic as I can get. Sorry. 8)

Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.

Victor,

Here's a dumb question. Are you from London, or thereabouts? I never really gave it any thought before, but your play ticket, oxford playhouse reference and "absolute rubbish" comment more or less commit you to being from the UK.

Just curious.

Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.

My vote would be less switches. Sounds like you can keep the hardware simple and still get creative with the software. I'm excited to try this out! I was looking at the Arduino online yesterday and almost ordered one even though I don't know what to do with it yet... haha.

New email address...

I've had the same email for about 8 years, now, but my ISP (formerly Alltel.net) sold out to Windstream.net...

So, my new email is jaycrowe@windstream.net. My old address (jaycrowe@alltel.net) will continue to work through April 2009.

Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.

Victor, That's great news! I'm interested to build one myself when you get time to share the plans. I really like the fact you have Alka-Seltzer handy on your desk. Is this a sign that it's going to be a great new year? Hope so! Thanks for the comments, Turtleman! I need to apologize for not k...

Re: Oblivion now supported

What did you use for the control/alt key aliases? You should use:

VK_LCONTROL for Left CONTROL key

VK_RCONTROL for Right CONTROL key

VK_LMENU for Left ALT key

VK_RMENU for Right ALT key

They seem to work (at least outside of Oblivion)

Re: Oblivion now supported

I did add your oblivilon.scg to the WebUpdate section, so anyone that uses that feature of the Spaceware will have access to your file. I'll have to look at the ALt and CTRL key support. It's been so long since I wrote the kb/mouse utility that I can't even venture a guess without reviewing the code...

New Messageboard... Again!

Yes, yet another new board... Actually just an upgrade of the existing phpBB board to the newest version. This was done in order to combat all the spam I was getting via the old board... Hopefully this cleans things up for a while! :D
