Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.
Your new PCB looks Great Victor! A lot better then the one I just etched and drilled tonight. I did have a lot of fun doing it. (Big Grin) I made a 2 sided board and it turned out ok for the first try. Here are a couple of pictures so you can see what your Orb PCB looks like when a drunken monkey an...

Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.
Thank you for the info Victor. I ordered the .5W Zener Diodes from Digikey, the .25W they had were surface mount. Digikey now has a USA location (Minnesota) so you don’t have to pay international shipping. I’m going to etch and drill the PCB as you did. The only problems I might have are the pin lay...

Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.
Hi Victor, I want to thank you again for engineering and fabricating a device the will enable the SpeceOrb to be plug and play device. You just don’t know how excited I am about building one of your PCB’s. I do have a question about the 3.6 volt Zener Diodes. In my research I have found that not all...

Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.
Hi Victor, I am very happy to hear the great news and very interested in your new hardware. Thank you for all your hard work to save the Orb. I want to help by sending you some money for board production and/or purchase the completed board from you. Just tell me how much and when you need it and I’l...

Re: Jay's Patches and files
Mike, You're not a pain. That's what this message board is for. You can find Jay's patches and files at http://www.planethardware.com/spaceorb. After you go to patches and files click on secondary (my home DSL), Win2K XP and then Drivers. There you well find what you need to get your Orb working wit...

Re: fireware.exe
I don't know about a fireware.exe for the SpaceOrb but there is a Orb firmware.exe. The Orb firmware.exe is a version detector that tells you if your Orb will work with XP. You can find it at Jay's patches and files.

Any SpaceOrb users still around?
I have been tied up with my job, home, family plus my computer was taken out by lighting and I’ve been out of touch with the SpaceOrb community. I have recently built a new computer and haven’t installed my Orb because I don’t know if it works with the newer games that are out now. If anyone is play...

Sorry I am late replying to your questions Jay, I have been really tied up with my job. To my surprise the OrbUpdate.exe wasn’t in my Spaceware folder so I did a search on my computer and OrbUpdate.exe wasn’t found. It was there before I installed your last Spaceware setup.exe. What’s up with that? ...

Web Update
Hi Jay, I have a question about your Web Update…orbcfg.exe V 0.1.0.14 that keeps coming up after I download and installed it numerous times. Each time it said “The Spaceware updates were successfully installed” but when I ran the Web Update again…even after rebooting it came up to be downloaded? I t...

Orbcfg.exe
Hi Jay, I tried D/L your latest orbcfg.exe with your web update 4 times. The first 2 times I got a "permission denied 70. the other 2 times the D/L went well but when I went to open the Orb customize I received a "run-time error 429 active X component can't create object". Can you offer any help? Ta...

Don, If you’re using Internet Explorer try Mozilla Firefox browser, it is great! Firefox is free and you can grab it at http://www.mozilla.com. It is more secure on the internet and you can adjust the font sizes as needed. My resolution is 1600x1200 pixels and can see Jay’s message board without any...

Hi Jay, I did resolve my OrbEvent problem by deleting the AntiSpyware I was using and installed Microsoft AntiSpyware. I moved the OrbEvent from the Spaceware folder (Where Web Update installed it) to my desktop and I tested the OrbEvent test version with the “Don’t send events” box checked as you s...
