SpaceOrb 360 installation instructions for Quake on Mplayer ------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Install the SpaceWare RealLife 3D Software that is included with your SpaceOrb 360. You _must_ install the DOS version in order to play Quake on Mplayer. Use the default location for the DOS drivers if possible. If your version of SpaceWare is earlier than 4.03 then you need to install the SpaceWare RealLife 3D Software 4.03 update. This file is located on ftp.spacetec.com (and www.spacetec.com). 2) a) Run the DOS Game Launcher from Start:Programs:SpaceOrb 360. b) Select Add/Remove Games c) Select Auto-detect games d) Select Add a game e) Scroll down the list and select Quake If you have both the shareware and retail versions of Quake loaded on your system you may need to Manualy add a game in 2c. 4) If you installed SpaceWare RealLife 3D Software for DOS in a location other than the default you will need to edit mporb.bat. Open up the quake folder in the Explorer. Right click MpOrb.bat and select Edit. Change the line: set spaceware=c:\spcware to set spaceware=dirname where dirname --^^^^^^^ is the location that you installed the drivers to. 5) If you did _not_ install quake into c:\quake then you need to change mporb.pif. Open up the quake folder in the Explorer. Right click MpOrb.bat and select Properties. Click the Program tab. Change Cmd line: to reflect the directory that Quake has been installed to and make sure Close on Exit is checked. 6) Last, you need to double-click MpOrb.reg. If at any time you wish to remove support for your SpaceOrb you can double-click MpNoOrb.reg. Note: When you launch a game, you may need to press the reset button (located on the bottom side or the orb) two or three times in order to play with this device.
