SpaceOrb - Aliens Trilogy Support Files



BETA SOFTWARE



The file in this directory, ORBTRIL.EXE, is a self-extracting ZIP file

containing the support files required to play Aliens Trilogy with the

SpaceOrb 360. To install the files, follow these instructions:



These instructions assume that you have installed the SpaceOrb game

files into the default C:\SPCWARE\SPACEORB\GAMES directory. If you

have installed them elsewhere, you will need to know their location.



Download ORBTRIL.EXE to the \SPCWARE\SPACEORB\GAMES directory.



To install under Windows95:

---------------------------

1. In Windows95, run Windows Explorer and find the ORBTRIL.EXE file in

   the directory to which you downloaded it. Double click it. A DOS 

   window will open, and you will see the UNZIP program run. When it 

   is finished, close the DOS window.



2. In Windows Explorer find the file SPCWARE.CFG (if you installed the

   SpaceOrb files into the default directories, you will find it in

   \SPCWARE\SPACEORB\SUPPORT). Double click it. If the Open With dialog

   box appears, choose NOTEPAD as the program to open it with. Notepad

   will run and display the contents of the SPCWARE.CFG file.



3. Move the cursor to the bottom of the file. Type this line:



   Aliens Trilogy=C:\SPCWARE\SPACEORB\games\tril.bat



   IMPORTANT: After you type this line, press enter to create a new 

   blank line at the end of the SPCWARE.CFG file.



4. Click on the File menu, and click Save. Click on File and click Exit.



To install under DOS:

---------------------

1. In DOS, type CD\SPCWARE\SPACEORB\GAMES. Type ORBTRIL. You will see

   the UNZIP program run.



2. Type CD\SPCWARE\SPACEORB\SUPPORT. Type EDIT SPCWARE.CFG. The DOS

   EDIT program will run and display the contents of the SPCWARE.CFG

   file.



3. Move the cursor to the bottom of the file. Type this line:



   Aliens Trilogy=C:\SPCWARE\SPACEORB\games\tril.bat



   Click on the File menu, and click Save. Click on File and click Exit.



Editing the TRIL.BAT File

If you have not installed Aliens Trilogy into the C:\ACCLAIM\TRILOGY

directory, you will need to edit the TRIL.BAT file that the SpaceOrb

DOS game launcher uses to run the game. It will be in the

\SPCWARE\SPACEORB\GAMES directory (or in the directory that contains

the SpaceOrb game files if you've installed them in a different directory).



Editing in Windows95

--------------------

In Windows Explorer, find the TRIL.BAT file in \SPCWARE\SPACEORB\GAMES.

Click on it with your RIGHT mouse button, and pick Edit from the popup

menu. NOTEPAD will run and display the contents of the batch file. Find

these lines:



@CD c:\acclaim\trilogy

C:\SPCWARE\SPACEORB\GAMES\spwtril.exe -exe trilogy.exe -dir c:\acclaim\trilogy -sbconfig c:\spcware\spaceorb\games\spwtril.scg



Change the first of the two lines to show the drive and directory where

Aliens Trilogy is installed. In the second of the two lines, change the

drive and directory after the -dir parameter to show the drive and

directory where Aliens Trilogy is installed.



Editing in DOS

At the DOS prompt, type CD\SPCWARE\SAPCEORB\GAMES. Type EDIT TRIL.BAT.

DOS EDIT will run and display the contents of the batch file. Find

these lines:



@CD c:\acclaim\trilogy

C:\SPCWARE\SPACEORB\GAMES\spwtril.exe -exe trilogy.exe -dir c:\acclaim\trilogy -sbconfig c:\spcware\spaceorb\games\spwtril.scg



Change the first of the two lines to show the drive and directory where

Aliens Trilogy is installed. In the second of the two lines, change the

drive and directory after the -dir parameter to show the drive and

directory where Aliens Trilogy is installed.



Running Aliens Trilogy With the SpaceOrb

----------------------------------------

To start the game with the SpaceOrb activated, run the SpaceOrb DOS game

launcher and pick Aliens Trilogy from the game list.
